FAMILY HOLIDAYS
Nothing can compare to a family holiday at Carmel.
Accommodation options range in price, making it possible for all budgets to be accommodated. Carmel’s facilities are ideal for children and families.
Our holiday teams will delight your family, with fun entertaining activities to appeal to all ages. A typical day in holiday season will start with a tractor ride for all children. The morning activities follow, where each age group is looked after with age-appropriate entertainment. The afternoon might be at leisure followed by a late afternoon cricket match or swimming pool ‘mini-Olympics’ fun. Our wonderful teams always amaze us with their fun themes and creative activities.
Of course, Victoria Bay is only a few minutes away by car and is one of the best swimming beaches in the country.
George and the Garden Route is plentiful in its holiday offerings. Below are just some of the things you may wish to build into your holiday plans:

This special area situated just above the chapel was developed and dedicated as a tribute to Jack and Kaye Edkins for their obedience to the call of God, and their many years of selfless devotion and commitment to the establishment of this wonderful place that has fed so much into the lives of the guests who visit Carmel.
This is a particularly beautiful spot dedicated to the memory of Gordon Edgar, a much-loved brother who lived and worked at Carmel, and was taken from us in April 2002. Many people find this their favourite spot at Carmel.
This especially cool and quiet area is situated below the Chapel looking out over the valley and the sea. A perfect spot to spend a few quiet moments, appreciating our Creator and all His wonderful Creation.
This beautifully soothing place next to the Chapel is also a favourite spot with its beautiful water feature and incredible view over the valley and the sea. The soothing sound of running water helps to bring peace and tranquillity to the spirit, soul and mind.
A peaceful space with comfortable sofas and armchairs and a huge picture window looking out onto the gardens and Victoria Bay. As the name suggests, guests are encouraged to be quiet in here, making this a lovely space to escape to when you need some stillness.
Just off the main reception is the Fireside Lounge where, on chilly evenings, a fire is lit in the fireplace. With its large sofas and armchairs and again the beautiful view, this is a place to enjoy relaxing with friends, with a cup of tea or coffee from the neighbouring help-yourself tearoom. Outside of holiday seasons, our evening devotions typically take place in this lounge.
